- 1. I've always been an artist and couldn't be a "former artist", and I'm really only happy when getting something out of my brain and putting it on paper or into looped string or cast metal or clay or paint. My father said that "Happiness is solving problems," by which he meant fixing things ad hoc, or making something out of nothing. I agree.
