Ralph Lichtensteiger believes...
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that all things flow and interpenetrate and cannot finally be set into categories.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger follows Aristotle in believing that art should imitate nature in its manner of operation.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that reality itself is unknowable.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that there is no exact correspondence between the world outside and that in our minds.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that art is not an object distinct from ourselves, but an experience, an event, including the observer.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that the act of creation is not special.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that nothing is ever the same.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger believes that questions are more important than answers.
— All that has "something" in common with Zen, but also with Aristotle, Thoreau, Jacques Derrida and/or Ludwig Wittgenstein.
— Ralph Lichtensteiger's art consists in allowing its elements to show themselves without subordination to a hirarchical ordering, freed from the conditionality of ordinary usage.

Thanks Ralph, for the kind invitation. Getting some of that snow from China here this morning, which is unfortunate, because this is the day that I usually get together with Burton and friends at Tokyo station. If it lets up before 12 noon, we'll be home free.

Getting ready to "hold forth" to students and faculty at the University of Louisiana in a very few days. Get me a Mojo hand, etc. too. Angel One is out there lighting up the darkest corners of the Internet. Jess

Great to be here Ralph. My wife was a little creeped out by the ginger root with fingers- it made a simply smashing shrimp dipping sauce. But caused considerable pain between my index and middle fingers.
