- Rebecca Cunningham is an Australian sound and performance/live artist interested in all methods of making. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Interdisciplinary) 2A Honours degree from the Queensland University of Technology and is currently on the board of Youth Arts Queensland.
I make/record sounds, take photos, write things, make videos, arrange objects, and sometimes use my body, to set up situations/interactions/to ask questions/ share messages and ideas that some people might (not) like.
Rebecca has curated a number of events in Queensland including MUSICIRCUS: for John Cage (2004), FLUX-US (2006) Amphis (co-curated, 2006) and CHAMBERS (2007). She has worked the industry in Australia for Queensland Music Festival, Australian International Music Market as Functions Coordinator (2005), Clocked Out Productions for Dada Cabaret as Arts Administrator (2005), and Circa as Arts Administrator (2005-2006). Recent performances include Collective Conscience at Fetter Field festival, Singapore and PLEDGE in Once Only, Metro Arts (Sept 07), hidden and Forgotten Parts in the Other Film Festival (Nov07), 1LTRE OF BLOOD 100KGS OF BULLETS (Dec 07) and ‘Sentiments of War’ alongside Leibniz at the National Review of Live Art, Glasgow (Feb 08). Rebecca currently has an installation in Ipswich, QLD IPSWICH:pastpresentfuture:a living installation, video appearing in ARTCONCEPT festival in St. Petersburg Russia (http://artconcept.narod.ru/) is performing 1LTRE OF BLOOD 1000KGS OF BULLETS 19 July for the Brisbane Festival and is co-curating alongside Zane Trow an international live art event/symposium exist in 08 in Brisbane October this year.
